Throwback Thursday Player focus: Michael Irving
One of the greatest Cowboys players of all time is Michael Irvin. Selected as the 11th player overall in the 1988 draft, Irving quickly ascended into the NFL elite. Almost immediately, Irving gave the Cowboys a glimpse of the next 12 years. During his first game as an NFL player, he caught the first of his 65 career touchdowns. Irvin’s true strengths became much clearer when he became one of the favorite targets of Troy Aikman when he joined the Cowboys in 1990. During his career, Irving completed 750 receptions for almost 12,000 yards and was recognized at five Pro Bowls.
